Our commitment
EKO North America wants everyone to be able to use this website, including people who rely on screen readers, keyboards, magnification or other assistive technology. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, the standard referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
We do not use an accessibility "overlay" or widget. Accessibility is built into the pages themselves.
What we have done
- The site was audited against WCAG 2.2 AA with automated tools (axe-core) and manual keyboard and screen-reader checks on every page type and interactive state (menus, search, product galleries, filters, video players, cart and forms), at desktop and mobile sizes, at 200% zoom and at 320-pixel width.
- Every page has a single, descriptive main heading; forms label every field, announce errors, and explain what personal details are collected and why before you submit; every control can be operated with a keyboard and shows a visible focus indicator; motion respects the "reduce motion" setting and moving content can be paused.
- The cookie banner can be operated entirely by keyboard, and the cookie settings can be re-opened at any time from the footer.
Known limitations
We know about the following areas that are not yet fully accessible and are working to fix them:
- Product photos: many product images do not yet have a written description of their own; where one is missing, the product name is announced instead.
- Video: some creator and product videos play with sound and do not yet have captions or a text alternative.
- Text over photos: on some banners, text sits on a photograph; contrast there can vary with the image.
- Third-party content: checkout, payment buttons, account pages, product reviews (Judge.me), the cookie-consent tool (Consentmo), e-mail sign-up forms (Klaviyo), the free-gift bar (Bogos) and live chat are provided by Shopify or other vendors. We test them and report problems to those vendors, but we do not control their code.
- Older content: some pages and articles written before this review may not yet meet every guideline.
